Garmin integration

Connect Garmin to AVA Golf. Every round and range session syncs on its own.

Link your Garmin account once. AVA imports up to 365 days of rounds from your Approach watch and sessions from your R10 or R50, then picks up every new one automatically. Nothing to export.

14 days free, then $25/month or $150/year

Garmin Connect

What syncs

Two kinds of Garmin data, one connection.

Rounds

Approach watches, with CT10 or CT1 sensors

  • Scorecard, hole by hole
  • GPS yardages
  • Shot positions (S-series watches)
  • The club on each shot (CT10 or CT1)

Range sessions

Approach R10 and R50

  • Ball speed
  • Club speed
  • Smash factor
  • Carry
  • Carry deviation
  • Launch angle
  • Spin rate
  • Spin axis
  • Apex
  • Club path
  • Face angle
  • Attack angle

A watch records where each shot started and finished, not how you swung. Club path, face angle and strike numbers come from a launch monitor.

Do I need sensors or a launch monitor?

No. An Approach S44, S50, S62 or S70 is enough for the shot-by-shot analysis; CT10 or CT1 sensors add the club to your shots, and an R10 or R50 adds your range sessions.

FAQ

Garmin connection questions

Which Garmin devices work?

Watches: Approach S44, S50, S62 and S70. Club sensors: Approach CT10 and CT1. Launch monitors: Approach R10 and R50. Rangefinder: Approach Z30, paired with a watch. Also supported: Approach G12, G20 and G82.

Do I need sensors or a launch monitor?

No. An Approach S44, S50, S62 or S70 is enough for the shot-by-shot analysis; CT10 or CT1 sensors add the club to your shots, and an R10 or R50 adds your range sessions.

CT10 or CT1?

Both put the club on your shots. CT10 records automatically. CT1 needs a deliberate tap before every shot.

Will my past rounds import?

Yes, if you switch on "Historical Data" when you log in to Garmin Connect. AVA then imports up to 365 days of rounds and range sessions. Garmin leaves the switch off by default, and left off, past rounds will not import.

How long does the first import take?

Processing typically completes within a few minutes, and it runs while you are already in the app.

Why is a card needed before I connect Garmin?

The Garmin connection opens once your free trial has started. $0 today, and cancel before day 15 to pay nothing.

Do I need to export anything from Garmin?

No. Log in to Garmin Connect once. No files, no CSVs.

Does AVA change anything in Garmin?

No. The connection is read-only, so your rounds, scores, club distances and handicap stay exactly as they are.

Can I disconnect later?

Yes, at any time, from AVA or from Garmin's authorized-apps screen. You can also export or delete everything AVA derived from your rounds.

Connect Garmin once. Every round after that syncs on its own.
