Approach R50 AVA Golf

You track with a Garmin Approach R50.
Now change your game.

The R50 measures the club, films the swing and still uploads on its own — and those numbers already hold the answer. AVA reads them first, then points you at the clip that matters.

One Garmin Approach R50 session in. Your gapping cost you more than your strike did. A 6-yard hole between the 7 and 8-iron leaves 17 yards below it that nothing covers.

Connect Garmin once and you're done

Garmin is a native sync, not an export job. Authorise it once and both sides of your game (Approach practice sessions and rounds off the watch) arrive on their own, scored on the same scale.

Connect Garmin AVA reads your sessions and never writes back. Nothing is posted to Garmin, nothing is shared with a coach or a club unless you send it, and you can disconnect or delete everything whenever you want.

Face or path, without leaving the garage

Every golfer with a consistent curve faces the same question and almost nobody answers it with data: is the ball starting off line, or starting on line and curving?

They look identical on a range and need opposite fixes. A face-dominant pattern is a grip or alignment job, often fixed inside a session. A path-dominant pattern is a genuine swing change that takes a coach and months.

The R10 measures the ball and infers. The R50's cameras observe the club, so AVA can say which one you have. Getting that fork right is worth more than any single drill, because it stops you spending a winter on the expensive answer to a cheap problem.

Video is evidence, not a search problem

A unit that films every swing produces a library nobody watches properly. Left to ourselves we work on whatever looks worst on camera, and that is almost never what costs the most strokes.

An ugly takeaway that produces a repeatable eight-yard draw costs close to nothing. A tidy swing with a seventeen-yard hole under it in the bag costs several shots a round.

AVA ranks the findings by cost first, then serves the clip attached to the shots behind the top finding. The video answers 'what does that look like', after the data has answered 'what matters'.

Both halves, one connection

The R50 syncs into the same Garmin account as your watch, which means the most useful comparison in golf data comes free: what you hit on the range versus what you hit on the course.

That comparison is normally impossible because practice and play live in different apps. Here it is one authorisation.

When practice carry sits eight yards above course carry, AVA says so, and that one sentence explains more amateur approach misses than any amount of delivery analysis.

Approach R50 questions, answered

What does the R50 add over the R10?

Observed club delivery and swing video. That moves the analysis from measuring a miss to explaining it: specifically, telling a face pattern from a path pattern, which need opposite fixes.

Do I need to export anything?

No. Sessions sync into your Garmin account and AVA reads them from there once Garmin is connected. No CSVs at any point.

Does AVA need the video?

No. The analysis runs on shot data. Video is used by the swing analyzer once the numbers have decided which swing is worth looking at.

Should I chase specific path or face numbers?

No. Those are outputs of a swing, and aiming at them tends to build compensations. AVA reads them as evidence, prices the resulting miss in strokes, and prescribes work against the finding.

Can I compare R50 practice to my watch rounds?

Yes. One Garmin connection brings in both, and that comparison is where a lot of the value is. AVA reports the gap between practice carry and course carry as its own finding.
