Approach S44
You track with a Garmin Approach S44.
Now change your game.
Your S44 rounds already hold the answer — a whole season of them, logged and never read back to you. Connect it and AVA prices every shot in strokes, then hands you the two or three costing you the most, and how to win them back.
One Garmin Approach S44 round in. Off the tee you lost 4 strokes. Approach cost the most, at −4.9.

Connect Garmin once and you're done
Garmin is a native sync, not an export job. Authorise it once and every round you play arrives on its own, scored in strokes gained next to your practice sessions.
That's one round. AVA reads your whole game.
Course rounds and range sessions in one place, trends over time, a progression that adapts as you improve, and a coach view when you want one.

Your watch recorded the season. Now do something with it
The S44 does the boring part properly. It catches your shots, keeps the card, and asks nothing of you beyond wearing it, which is exactly why most golfers end a season with a full history and no idea what to practise.
Recording and ranking are different jobs. A round summary hands you fairways, greens and putts, then leaves you to decide which of them mattered. Decide that by feel and you will blame the memorable miss instead of the expensive habit, every time.
AVA prices everything the watch caught in strokes against a scratch baseline. Driving, approach play, short game and penalties land on one scale you can compare, and the order that comes back is your practice list.
Play the yardage you actually carry
Your Garmin profile already holds your measured club distances, and they are almost always shorter than the number you quote on the tee.
That single gap explains a lot of scorecards. In the round on this page, eight of twelve approaches finished off the green and averaged 31.7 feet from the pin, because the yardage being played was a best-case carry from a lie that was never going to produce it.
Take one more club and swing the same. It is the fastest change available to most golfers, it costs nothing, and AVA will show you what it is worth before you try it.
Fix the back nine instead of blaming it
Most golfers put a fading back nine down to concentration. Sometimes that is right. Often it is a measurable drop in strike quality that starts around the same hole every round, and your watch has been recording the physical side of it all along.
Practice data shows the same shape: smash factor holds for sixty balls, then falls off a cliff. Endurance is individual, it is measurable, and it changes what a sensible round or session looks like for you.
AVA reads rounds and sessions together, which is the only way to separate a decision problem from a fatigue problem. They need opposite fixes, and guessing between them costs a season.
Approach S44 questions, answered
Do I need to export anything from the watch?
No. Your rounds sync to your Garmin account and AVA reads them from there once you connect Garmin. Authorise it once and you are done.
Do I need club sensors?
Not to get a read. Without them AVA works from your scores, hole context and shot locations, and putts are not recorded at all. Tag your clubs and it knows what you hit on every shot, which adds putting strokes gained and turns a vague miss into a specific yardage fix.
Does AVA change anything on my watch or in Garmin Golf?
No. The connection is read-only. Your rounds, scores, club distances and handicap stay exactly as they are.
What about the rounds I played before connecting?
AVA brings in what your Garmin account makes available rather than starting from the day you connect. History is what turns a snapshot into a trend.
How is this different from the S70 page?
It is the same analysis. The S70 carries a larger screen and a longer feature list, but AVA reads the round out of your Garmin account rather than talking to the watch, so what you get back depends on what the round recorded, not which model recorded it.
