AVA Golf

MLM AVA Golf

You track with a Rapsodo MLM.
Now change your game.

The MLM measures fewer things than its successor and it measures carry perfectly well — and carry already holds the answer to the most expensive problem in your bag. AVA reads the same session and hands you that one first.

AVA INTELLIGENCE

One Rapsodo MLM session in. Your gapping cost you more than your strike did. A 6-yard hole between the 7 and 8-iron leaves 17 yards below it that nothing covers.

RAPSODO MLM + AVA GOLF

Turn your Rapsodo MLM sessions into lower scores

One question this unit answers completely

What does each club in your bag actually carry? Not the number on the shaft band, not what it did once downwind: the number you can commit to under pressure.

That is the input for the finding in the sample session: two clubs covering the same six yards and a seventeen-yard band beneath them with nothing in it. It costs strokes every round and it is invisible on a golf course, because on a course you take a bit more club and move on.

An MLM and one focused session finds it. A bench visit fixes it. No spin axis or attack angle was required at any point.

The second question: which number to write down

Most golfers average a bucket of 7-irons and treat the result as their yardage. It is the middle of a distribution, and roughly half their shots land short of it.

In the sample session only 38% of 7-irons finished within five yards of the average, which is exactly why the typical amateur approach miss is short, again and again.

AVA reads the distribution rather than the mean. Carry data alone is entirely sufficient for that, and acting on it is worth more than most swing changes and costs nothing.

Where to stop, and what to do about it

The honest limit is cause. When your miss is a consistent curve, this file tells you which side it lives on but not why, and face-dominant and path-dominant misses need opposite fixes.

You do not need to buy anything to settle it. One session on a club-measuring unit (a fitting, an indoor bay, a lesson) exported as a CSV is enough, and AVA will hold that single file against your whole MLM history.

Failing that, let your rounds decide. A curve that shows up in the bag but never costs you on the card is a different problem from one that appears on every approach, and AVA reads rounds and sessions together precisely so that comparison is available.

Original MLM questions, answered

Is the original MLM still worth using?

For gapping and real yardages, yes, and those are the two findings that cost most golfers the most strokes. What it cannot do is tell you why a shot curved. One caveat on the file rather than the unit: AVA is built around the MLM2PRO export, so an original MLM CSV may not parse — see the upload box above.

Why does AVA call my spin 'estimated'?

Because on this unit it is modelled from flight rather than measured off a marked ball. Descent-angle and green-holding conclusions depend on spin, so AVA marks them directional rather than presenting them as settled.

Can AVA work out my club path from this data?

It could model one, and it won't. Presenting a modelled number as confidently as a measured one is how golfers rebuild a swing to fix a grip.

Should I upgrade to the MLM2PRO?

Only if attribution is your open question. If your gapping is still unresolved and your yardages are still guesses, the unit you own has more to give you than an upgrade does.

Will my older sessions upload?

Send them and you find out. The export AVA reads today is the MLM2PRO shape, and an original MLM file may not parse — if yours cannot be read, you get an email that says so and names what does work. Where it does read, years of sessions beat one: history is what separates a real trend from a good week.
