GC3 AVA Golf

You track with a Foresight GC3.
Now change your game.

The GC3 measures ball and club with cameras rather than radar, so its numbers hold up indoors — and they already hold the answer. AVA reads the same session and hands you the two or three things costing you the most, and how to fix them.

One Foresight GC3 session in. Your gapping cost you more than your strike did. A 6-yard hole between the 7 and 8-iron leaves 17 yards below it that nothing covers.

No account needed. Export a session from FSX Play, FSX 2020 or FSX Pro, drop the CSV here with your email address, and AVA reads every shot — carry, dispersion, strike quality, gapping and club delivery — then emails you the analysis, scored the same way as your on-course rounds.

Drop your FSX export here A CSV of shot rows from FSX Play, FSX 2020 or FSX Pro. GCQuad and GC3 exports are the ones AVA reads today; a GCHawk file in the same FSX shape usually works, and you get an email either way. .csv only, up to 5 MB.

Turn your Foresight GC3 sessions into lower scores

Camera indoors beats radar indoors

This is the practical reason a GC3 sits in so many garages. Radar needs ball flight to measure; cut the flight off after eight feet into a net and more of the numbers become modelled rather than observed.

Photometric units read the ball at impact, so a GC3 in a net produces the same quality of data as a GC3 outdoors. For a home setup with limited space, that is the whole argument.

AVA treats a GC3 net session as a full session rather than discounting it the way it discounts radar-in-a-net carry numbers. Your gapping ladder off a GC3 is one you can actually play to.

Gapping is what a home unit is for

The highest-value thing you can do with a GC3 is not swing work. It is bag work: finding out what each club actually carries, in volume, with no wind and no guessing.

Look at the ladder in the sample session. Two clubs covering the same six yards, and a seventeen-yard band beneath them with nothing in it. On the course that never announces itself: you take a bit more club, swing a bit softer, and file the result under 'poor shot'.

It takes one focused session to find and a bench visit to fix, and a bag that covers its distances is worth more to your scoring than most swing changes you will ever attempt.

What to do when the GC3 and the course disagree

A GC3 carry off a mat tends to sit slightly above what the same swing produces off turf, because a mat lets a fat strike slide into the ball instead of digging.

That is not a reason to distrust the unit. It is a reason to treat the session number as your ceiling and the course number as the truth, which is precisely how AVA holds them: sessions set the ladder, rounds decide which rungs cost you shots.

The habit worth building is picking your yardage from the reliable end of your distribution rather than the middle of it, and letting the data tell you where that line sits.

GC3 questions, answered

What can a GCQuad tell me that a GC3 can't?

Impact location on the face. That single field is what lets AVA attribute a wide carry spread to toe strikes rather than to the swing. A GC3 file supports everything else: gapping, dispersion, spin, delivery.

Does the GC3 work well in a net?

Yes, better than radar does. It reads the ball at impact rather than tracking flight, so a net session is a full session and its carry numbers are ones you can play to.

Does AVA change anything in FSX?

No. AVA reads the file you export and never writes back. Your sessions and your FSX library stay exactly as they are.

Can I compare GC3 sessions to a fitting I did on a GCQuad?

Yes. Both are photometric Foresight units reporting through FSX, so the shared parameters line up. AVA keeps them as separate sessions and compares the trend rather than averaging them together.

Does the ball I hit matter?

For spin, yes. Range and foam balls do not behave like a premium ball, so AVA weighs spin-dependent conclusions from those sessions accordingly.
