SHOT SCOPE + AVA GOLF

Turn your Shot Scope rounds into lower scores

You already have the data. That was never the hard part.

Shot Scope solved capture. Tag the clubs, wear the watch, and a full season of shot-level golf records itself without you thinking about it. Very few amateurs have a data set that good.

What it does not solve is priority. A dashboard full of accurate numbers still leaves you deciding which one to work on, and that decision almost always defaults to whatever you already suspected.

AVA prices every measure in strokes against a scratch baseline, which puts approach play, penalties, lag putting and driving on one comparable scale. The ranking that comes back is frequently not the one you expected, and it is the one worth practising.

Your measured distances versus your range distances

One of the most valuable things in a Shot Scope profile is your measured club distances, because they are built from real shots on real turf rather than from a mat on a good day.

They are almost always shorter than the numbers a golfer quotes, and they come off the lies you actually had. In the round above seven of twelve approaches started in rough or sand, where a best-case carry number is fiction, and 31.7 feet of average proximity is the result.

AVA holds both sides (your on-course measured distances and your launch monitor session data) and reports the difference as its own finding. When the two disagree, the course is right.

Two holes, not eighteen

Look at the scorecard above. Two holes did the damage: a 7 on the par-4 2nd and a 6 on the par-4 9th, five shots between them, with four penalty strokes in the round. The other seven holes came in at one over par between them.

This is the most common shape in amateur scoring, and it means the fastest route to a lower handicap is usually not better golf. It is fewer disasters: a 3-wood where the trouble sits at 250, a wedge back into play instead of the hero shot, one more club into a front pin.

AVA finds where your rounds actually break, prices each decision, and gives you the small number of changes that would have saved the most shots. Then it updates as you improve, because the answer moves.

Shot Scope questions, answered

Can AVA read my Shot Scope rounds?

Not today. Shot Scope is not a connected source, and there is no import path for its rounds, so nothing on this page is claiming otherwise. Tell us you want it and it goes on the list with your device named.

Is there a workaround with a CSV?

Not a reliable one. AVA's CSV import is built around shot-level launch monitor and simulator files, and a Shot Scope export does not map onto it cleanly enough to trust the output. We would rather tell you that than half-read your season.

Will my existing Shot Scope history be usable later?

That is the plan, and it is the reason to keep recording. Your rounds live in your Shot Scope account, and a connection reads history rather than starting from the day it is switched on.

What can I analyze in the meantime?

Anything AVA reads today. Garmin rounds sync natively, and any launch monitor or simulator that exports shot rows imports directly, which covers most golfers who own more than one piece of kit.

Do I need the club tags for this analysis to work?

When Shot Scope is connected, they are most of the value. Without club data AVA works from scores, hole context and shot locations. With it, a vague miss becomes a specific yardage fix.

What about range and simulator practice?

Rounds and sessions are scored on the same scale and sit on one timeline, so you can finally see whether what you practise shows up in what you shoot.

Who sees my data?

You do. Nothing is shared with a coach, a club or anyone else unless you send them a link, and you can export or delete everything whenever you want.
