Your Golfshot rounds already hold the answer — it knows the club you pulled and the distance you had. AVA cannot read them yet, so this page shows what the analysis does with a tracked round, what you can start with today, and how to get Golfshot on the list.

Turn your Golfshot rounds into lower scores

A caddie in your pocket is not a coach

Golfshot is built for the shot in front of you. Yardage to the front, a club recommendation, a green you can see the shape of before you get there. On the course, that is exactly the right job.

What it leaves undone is the season. A stats page tells you your greens-in-regulation percentage and your average score, then leaves you to decide which line matters, and that decision almost always defaults to whatever you already suspected about your game.

AVA prices every measure in strokes against a scratch baseline, which puts driving, approach play, short game, putting and penalties on one comparable scale. The order that comes back is usually not the order golfers expect, and it is the order worth practising.

The club recommendation and the club you actually need

Any app that recommends a club is working from a number for that club. If that number is a best-case carry rather than a reliable one, every recommendation built on it is a little too optimistic, and the misses stack up in one direction.

That is exactly the pattern in the round above: eight of twelve tracked approaches finished off the green, seven of them played from rough or sand after two fairways from seven. The approach number is where it shows up; the tee is where it started.

Finding it takes shot-level history and something willing to rank what it costs you. That is the half a GPS app was never trying to do.

Two holes, not eighteen

Look at the scorecard above. Two holes did the damage: a 7 on the par-4 2nd and a 6 on the par-4 9th, five shots between them, with four penalty strokes in the round. The other seven holes came in at one over par between them.

This is the most common shape in amateur scoring, and it means the fastest route to a lower handicap is usually not better golf. It is fewer disasters: a 3-wood where the trouble sits at 250, a wedge back into play instead of the hero shot, one more club into a front pin.

AVA finds where your rounds break, prices each decision, and hands you the small number of changes that would have saved the most shots. Then it updates as you improve, because the answer moves.

Golfshot questions, answered

Can AVA read my Golfshot rounds?

Not today. Golfshot is not a connected source, and there is no import path for its rounds, so nothing on this page is claiming otherwise. Tell us you want it and it goes on the list.

Is there a workaround with a CSV?

Not a reliable one. AVA's CSV import is built around shot-level launch monitor and simulator files, and a Golfshot export does not map onto it cleanly enough to trust the output. We would rather tell you that than half-read your season.

Will my existing Golfshot history be usable later?

That is the plan, and it is the reason to keep recording. Your rounds live in your Golfshot account, and a connection reads history rather than starting from the day it is switched on.

What can I analyze in the meantime?

Anything AVA reads today. Garmin rounds sync natively, and any launch monitor or simulator that exports shot rows imports directly, which covers most golfers who own more than one piece of kit.

Do I need Golfshot Plus or Pro for this?

Not for AVA's sake, now or later. What your Golfshot plan includes is between you and Golfshot; AVA's side of it is reading whatever round data you are able to share.

Does connecting anything change my Golfshot account?

No. AVA reads and never writes back, whatever the source. Your rounds, stats and handicap stay exactly where they are.

Who sees my data?

You do. Nothing is shared with a coach, a club or anyone else unless you send them a link, and you can export or delete everything whenever you want.
